APPOINTMENT DATE!!!!
We are so excited! I woke up this morning to find out that I had an email from our attorney. We have a date for the meeting with SDA on NOVEMBER 28th, 2008 at 10:30AM! This is great news for us! I will be looking for tickets today. We would like to arrive in Kiev couple of days before our appointment. Its so good to finally know when we are going~!!! We will not be telling the boys, this will be a surprise for them... I can just imagine their faces, when they will just see us at the orphanage...How exciting~!

We have a 12yo daughter that's been home now for six months. I found your blog a few weeks ago, but have waited until you received your appointment to post.
How exciting! Now you have to shift in high gear. lol The hardest part for me was the getting ready. The packing was easy, it was all the bill paying and arrangements for things at home that was the headache. And I had around two months. You only have 3 weeks:0
One thing that came in really handy for us was bungee cords. We used them for hanging our wet clothes.
You can find lots of shampoo, bar soap, hand soap and things like that there, even American brands, so you don't need to worry about bringing much. There really wasn't much we couldn't find in Ukraine except the same quality TP. We did find it if we looked really hard. In Kiev, they have some that is even nicer than here, but it's pricey and very hard to find. They sell it by individual rolls.
Maybe you know this, but you'll be running for trains and carrying your own luggage. So pack light. The train station in Kiev is all stairs going down to the train platform plus wall to wall people who push and shove. I couldn't believe it when someone pushed me through a doorway. The people we were around didn't know the concept of personal space:0
